Toddlers and kids can be picky eaters that can give you a tough time to include vegetables and whole foods in their regular diet. The best way to feed them vegetables is by sneaking vegetables into their recipes and making them colorful. This savory beetroot yogurt (Beetroot Raita) recipe serves both purposes. With this quick and easy recipe, you will feed your child one of the most nutritious vegetables – Beetroot.

This recipe is a hit with toddlers and kids alike. It is perfect for snack time, lunch boxes, and serving alongside Pulao, Khichdi, or Cutlet. Let’s make it together. (Alert! Make a big batch because everyone would want to have it.)

What is a Beetroot?

Beetroot, often called “beet,” is a root vegetable known for its vibrant red color and sweet, earthy flavor. It belongs to the Beta vulgaris species and is closely related to other vegetables like Swiss chard and sugar beets. The flesh of beetroots is firm and dense, with a texture similar to that of carrots.

Beetroots can be enjoyed raw, roasted, boiled, steamed, or pickled, and they are used in many culinary applications. They can be grated and added to salads, juiced for a refreshing beverage, blended into soups and smoothies, or roasted and served as a side dish.
