Steps
Pizza Base
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt and mix well. Make a well in the centre and add yeast and water. Stir gently until the yeast dissolves.
- Add olive oil and continue to stir until a rough dough forms.
- Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until the dough becomes soft, smooth and elastic.
- Oil a clean bowl and place the dough inside. Cover with a damp towel or cling wrap and leave to rise for 1 hour until it doubles in size.
- Preheat oven to 220°C.
- Punch down the dough and place it on a floured pizza pan. Roll out the dough into a 12 inch (30cm) circle. Press the edges slightly to form a crust.
- Bake for 6-7 minutes or until the crust is lightly golden.
Buffalo Cauliflower Topping
- Preheat oven to 220°C.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine cauliflower florets, olive oil, garlic powder and salt.
- Toss to coat well and spread the florets in a single layer on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cauliflower is golden on the edges, tender and crispy.
- Transfer the roasted cauliflower back to the mixing bowl and toss with buffalo sauce until coated evenly.
Pizza Assembly
- Spread the buffalo cauliflower mixture over the prebaked crust, leaving a border around the edge.
- Top with grated vegan mozzarella and sliced red onions.
- Bake for another 10-12 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Sprinkle with chopped cilantro and black pepper to taste.
- Slice and serve hot.
