Veg Club Sandwich – 2 Ways // 5 Minute Breakfast or Evening Snack

In a bustling world of sandwiches, a timeless classic that never fails to satisfy your hunger pangs with its- perfect blend of flavors and texture – Veg Club Sandwich. A delightful creation that still holds its iconic position in cafes, bistros, and diners and is perfect to make at home on a busy day. It is such a simple, easy, and quick sandwich recipe that you would want to have it regularly – for breakfast or evening snack. You can customize it as you like.

This sandwich has been my favorite since I was a kid. And now even my husband loves it a lot especially because it is very comforting and satisfying. And you can never go wrong with this recipe. People of all generations love this iconic club sandwich – a true culinary masterpiece that never goes out of style.

What is a Club Sandwich?

A club sandwich is one iconic sandwich recipe that is loved by everyone. It features layers of toasted or untoasted bread, especially white bread loaf, some crispy and crunch salad vegetables like cucumber, juicy tomato, onion, creamy mayonnaise, tangy sauces, cheese, and greens like lettuce.

You can even add some ham or eggs if you prefer a non-vegetarian club sandwich.

Can we take a Veg Club Sandwich to school?

It tastes best when served right away because you get a nice crunch of vegetables and the juiciness of tomatoes. It tastes divine. You can even pack it for a school lunch box, picnic, or even take it to your office. It was my constant favorite in school.

I would suggest not adding salt because it may release moisture from the vegetables and that makes the bread soggy. To prevent this, apply a layer of mayonnaise first and then some salad leaves on top because that prevents the moisture from seeping into the bread.

Is this recipe vegan?

Yes. All the ingredients used in this recipe are vegan and plant-based. It is one delightful, filling, and satisfying recipe for vegans and vegetarians. It can be consumed for breakfast, or evening snack. This sandwich gets prepared in 5 minutes which is why it is perfect for the days when you are in a hurry or do not want to spend a lot of time in the kitchen.

Ingredients

Steps

Untoasted Sandwich
  1. On one slice of the bread, apply softened butter all over and then tomato ketchup.
  2. Layer it with a few slices of cucumber, tomato, and onion. Sprinkle some salt and crushed black pepper. Finish it off with another layer of bread on top. Enjoy!
  3. I prefer to add 2 layers of thinly sliced cucumbers.
Toasted Sandwich
  1. Heat a pan and apply some butter to it. Toast two bread slices - one from both sides and another one from just one side.
  2. Take the bread with one side untoasted. Place it on a plate with the toasted side on top. Place a cheese slice and then layer it up with some thinly sliced vegetables.
  3. Sprinkle salt and pepper. And then goes another toasted bread on top.
  4. Now put it back into the heated pan to toast the untoasted side of the bread. Cover so that it melts the cheese slice too. In just about a minute, it will be ready. Enjoy!
  5. Toasting the sandwich after layering it with the vegetables makes the vegetables lose their crunch and wilt.
