How to cook Pasta?

  1. Take a large saucepan to boil pasta. Small pans overcrowd the pasta and make them sticky and mushy.
  2. Add ONLY SALT in water to boil pasta. NO OIL is needed.
  3. Add pasta only when the water starts to boil.
  4. Keep stirring in between to prevent them from sticking with each other.
  5. Pasta takes around 10 – 12 minutes to cook. Keep an eye out, and take a bite of it to see if they are cooked. Boil only until they are just cooked. Then remove from the flame and drain off the water.

Steps

Boil Pasta
  1. Fill a large saucepan with water, about 3/4th. Add around 1 Tbsp salt to it. Boil water.
  2. Add pasta and cook as per the packet instructions or until al dente. Keep stirring in between to avoid sticking.
  3. Do not overcook. It makes pasta mushy.
  4. Once cooked, drain off the water and set aside. 
  5. Save some water. We will need it to make the sauce.
Prepare Sauce
  1. Heat a skillet and add cooking oil to it. Add whole dry red chili and saute for a few seconds. 
  2. Add chopped onion and garlic and sauté until fragrant and translucent, about a minute.
  3. Do not brown.
  4. Add cherry tomatoes and toss for a few seconds on high flame. Then add mixed bell peppers and mix well. 
  5. Keep them crunchy and not soft.
  6. Add Instant knorr soup mixture. Mix well until everything is well coated with the mixture. 
  7. Pour 1 cup of saved pasta water into the skillet and stir continuously. Season it with the spices and herbs - crushed black pepper, red chili flakes, and basil. Stir to mix everything well.
  8. Throw in cooked pasta and mix well. Cover and let it cook for about 2 minutes to infuse all the flavors together. 
  9. Add more water to adjust the consistency of sauce.
  10. Garnish with cheese and black olives. Serve right away. Enjoy this quick and easy restaurant-style pasta at home.
