Looking for a healthy, protein-rich, high-fiber, low carbs breakfast?

And guess what, this recipe has NO SUGAR & OIL.

Story Time

Do you want to know a weird fact about me? Don’t hate me when I say this – I do not eat chocolates. Yes! When I get chocolates as a gift, my husband eats them. When he gives me chocolates, even then he eats them 😀 But it is not like I hate chocolates. I do eat them when I crave them and that happens very rarely. I do enjoy chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream on top but I can have just a bite or two and I am done.

Anyway, I know most people enjoy chocolate, and that is when I decided to create a breakfast that includes chocolate flavor. I was not sure how it would turn out. Cacao powder is bitter for my taste buds. Since Jatin loves chocolates so I thought that the chocolate granola won’t go to waste. Now that he became a fan of granola, I knew he alone can finish the entire batch of homemade granola.

When I made this granola and I tasted it, I said to myself – how am I going to eat it. I felt that it is a failed recipe. But I decided to give it another try. I served it with curd, banana, berries, and Voila! We had a winner. Though we can not eat it as a snack but it literally saved us on those busy mornings when we had little or no time to prepare breakfast. I must tell you, keep a jar of granola at all times in your home. It not just makes a quick and easy breakfast but a filling and healthy snack too.

What is Granola?

Granola is a quick and easy breakfast or snack food that is made up of rolled oats, nuts, seeds, dried fruits, and some sweeteners like honey, maple syrup, brown sugar, etc. All these ingredients are mixed well and then cooked or baked together until golden brown and crispy. It comes in different varieties and flavors too and if you are making it at home, you can actually customize it as per your own taste buds.

You can add different kinds of nuts and seeds that are available, dried fruits like mango, apple, pineapple, etc. You can even add some spices like cinnamon, gingerbread spices, and nutmeg. Because we get so many different kinds of rolled grains these days like wheat or millet, we can customize it by using different kinds of grains and make it extra healthy and nutritious.
