Story Time
Some time back, I was in a cafe with a friend of mine. We met over breakfast and she ordered granola. Although, the granola she ordered had more curd and an extremely less quantity of strawberry sauce and granola in it. Anyway, that is not the point I want to focus on but that was funny to share 😀
Anyway, I always enjoy homemade granola (especially because I get to eat more granola) and would never prefer to buy it outside. But that time when I was with my friend, I tasted a spoon of granola from her bowl and it was very tasty. I wanted to eat more from her bowl but I resisted and thought that I would also try this combination at home with homemade granola and sauce. Luckily, strawberry is in season and it would be difficult not to buy this extra gorgeous and colorful fruit when you see it in stores. Though we are not a fan of strawberries but this time I bought a big crate of it only to make a jar of strawberry sauce.
I made a big batch of it and refrigerated it. We enjoy it not just with our granola but also made iced tea with it. It was also yum. I am going to share that recipe too on the blog. Just keep an eye out and watch out for the space.
What is Granola?
Granola is a quick and easy breakfast or snack food that is made up of rolled oats, nuts, seeds, dried fruits, and some sweeteners like honey, maple syrup, brown sugar, etc. All these ingredients are mixed well and then cooked or baked together until golden brown and crispy. It comes in different varieties and flavors too and if you are making it at home, you can actually customize it as per your own taste buds.
You can add different kinds of nuts and seeds that are available, dried fruits like mango, apple, pineapple, etc. You can even add some spices like cinnamon, gingerbread spices, and nutmeg. Because we get so many different kinds of rolled grains these days like wheat or millet, we can customize it by using different kinds of grains and make it extra healthy and nutritious.
The best part is that you don’t need to cook it while serving it like other cereals or Musli. Just add it over curd or milk, top it up with some fresh fruits, and enjoy.
How to eat Granola?
Granola is a quick and easy breakfast (or snack). You don’t need to cook it further while eating because it is already baked or well-toasted. You can simply add it to milk or over the curd, yogurt, or Greek yogurt. Top it up with some fresh-cut fruits like bananas, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, grapes, mango, apple, etc. to make it even more delicious and wholesome.
You can even top it up with some strawberry sauce, blueberry sauce, or any fruit sauce that you have. It tastes even more delicious.
